Harters' specialist crime team provides expert advice and representation in all aspects of criminal defence work. We can advise you from the outset of any investigation onwards.
We provide emergency police station cover, representation in the Magistrates' Court and Youth Court and in the Crown Court too. Most of this work is free to clients. All advice and assistance at the police station is free of charge. Many clients are eligible for Legal Aid to cover Court proceedings. In those instances where clients are ineligible for Public Funding, we can undertake work on a private fee paying basis.
A key area of our work is advising suspects at the Police Station. Additionally, we are able to assist clients suspected of DWP fraud and other offences arising out of benefit claims.
Our Advocates have extensive experince of conducting Magistrates Court and Crown Court proceedings. We are able to advise clients on procedural and evidential issues throughout the lifespan of a case.We are subject to regulation by the Legal Services Commission. In December
2007, following a crime peer review, we were judged to be 'competant plus'
